Nevada Northern Diesel Rental 11 Sep 2010

11 September 2010 was our second day in Ely, Nevada. Sandy and I thought running the diesel after running steam locomotive #40 the previous day would be a little anti-climactic. Far from it! Running the diesel was just as cool, just in a different way. Our supervising engineer Ray Moser, and our fireman Dan Shurtleff were the most gracious hosts one could hope for, and we really enjoyed chatting with them during our trip, not just about railroading, but Nevada, ranching, and anything else you could name.
Thanks for having us aboard your engine, fellows!
